Seafish 3-week Intro to Commercial Fishing (ICF)
Our 3-week Introduction to Commercial Fishing (ICF) course is for anyone who wants to start working on a commercial fishing vessel. Funding is currently available!
Course content
The Introduction to Commercial Fishing (ICF) course gives new entrants a basic knowledge and awareness of different activities that are commonplace aboard commercial fishing vessels.
It is a three-week course. It includes four mandatory one-day Seafish courses which are legally required to work on a fishing vessel. These are:
- sea survival,
- health and safety,
- first aid,
- firefighting.
Once you have completed the course, we can supply you with a ICF New Entrants Card which lists on the back the four basic mandatory courses. Get in touch with us using the contact details at the bottom of the page.
How to apply
Anyone interested in completing this course should contact 54 North Maritime Training by sending an email to info@whitbyfishingschool.co.uk.
Applicants will be assessed by one of the Seafish Training Advisors for their suitability and then you will be required to pass the ENG-1 merchant navy medical before you are allocated a place on the next available course. Our next ICF course is planned to run from Monday 7th October 2024.
